Broward Sheriff's Office Arresting Hunger
April 22nd, 2005

A county wide effort by the Broward Sheriff's Office to collect food for the hungry culminated today with several hundred pounds of food being delivered via the Million Meals project of the Children's Services Council to The Cooperative Feeding Program.

"This is the second year that BSO officers and staff have organized the food drive", according to Lt. Nichole Armstrong, Executive Officer to the Sheriff. "We all wanted to do something to help".

Sheriff Deputies Bob Sierra, Tony Romano, Alan Barnes and Dave Boros deliver part of the food collected by BSO for The Cooperative Feeding Program.

The collection took place in 16 offices throughout Broward County from April 4th through the 21st.

The collected food will be immediately distributed to the more than 100 families who collect emergency food supplies from The Cooperative Feeding Program.
